Corgi Assurance

When servicing a gas appliance, it is done by a qualified Corgi person, the following are undertaken.

 

  • operating pressure at the gas meter
  • appliance operating pressure
  • verify the gas rate at the meter test dial
  • the size of pilot and burner injector
  • the pilot position (incorrect siting could cause flame impingement)
  • internal gas escapes (escapes from splits in the burner, connections, etc)
  • burner clean, correctly assembled and positioned
    burner undamaged, check flame picture
  • heat exchanger clean, especially low water content appliances with copper-finned heat exchangers (check if the fins could be restricted or even blocked)
  • position of internal baffles in the heat exchanger
  • open-flue appliance operation, supply of combustion air, no spillage (can cause vitiation)
  • room-sealed appliance operation, no combustion products re-circulating causing vitiation, flue exhaust duct sealed satisfactorily
